Early Islamic History III: From Hudaybiyyah to the Prophet's Demise

Course Description: Early Islamic History is a survey of the history of Islam from Prophet Muhammad’s birth extending through the lives of the 12 Imams. The instructor will primarily draw course material from Shaykh Muḥammad Hādī Yusufī Gharawī’s 8-volume Mawsūʿat al-taʾrīkh al-islāmī and Shaykh Rasūl Jaʿfariyyān’s 3-volume Taʿrīkh-e siyāsī-e islām. Following the lead of these two historians, we will focus on both narrative and political history of this time period.

HIS III focuses on the period from the Treaty of Ḥudaybiyyah in 628 CE to the Prophet’s demise in 632 CE.
